Alger
Creek, Late Autumn
June Lake Loop, California, 2000
The greatest joy in my photographic wanderings is stumbling onto these
small scenes of wonder and perfection. For an hour I had been scratched
and poked while I ducked in and around the thick, jumbled, sharp old
growth of this happy little creek. This sweet, expressive scene is one
of my favorite photographs. Like the meandering stone walls of New England,
the mostly anonymous small creeks of the Sierra offer visual treats
as
satisfying
for me as any grand vista.
