Cathedral
Peak, Grasses
Yosemite, California 2002
The Cathedral Peak trail is one of the most well traveled trails in
the Yosemite high country. It's easy to see why. On this day it was
the sharp green of the grasses and the perfect sky blue framing the
peak that made me stop and make a photograph. I like the simple graphic
lines of this image, but I was hoping for more drama. I've watched from
a distance when the sky colors change from purple slate to gold to deep
rose. Cathedral Peak will often draw these colors to itself, and wear
them on it's slick, stone white shoulders like fine silk shining in
the sun.
